The 2013 Assets & Opportunity Scorecard includes a wealth of publications and tools created to help make the Scorecard even more accessible and useful to policy advocates.

Custom Reports and Graphics

Take the Scorecard with you by downloading state profiles and custom reports for your advocacy efforts and create graphics to easily insert into presentations, reports or websites. Use the tools below to:

• Download profiles summarizing all the data measures for your state and the strengths and weaknesses of your state’s policies
• Create a report comparing your state to up to four other states or the US on key data measures
• Create custom charts comparing your state to other states or the US on any data measure
• Download a snapshot of asset poverty in your state

2012 Policy Changes

In 2012, CFED collected data on state policy changes that occurred, or for which data became available, after October 2011. Click here to see the policy progress – or lack thereof – that states have made on each of 12 policies that expand financial security and opportunity. You can also listen to a webinar providing analysis and commentary about the data. 

Policy Resources

The Scorecard assesses states on the strength of their policies to expand economic opportunity, including a detailed assessment of 12 policy priorities across the five Issue Areas. Policy Briefs and Resource Guides are available for every policy priority.

Published with the 2009-2010 Assets & Opportunity Scorecard, Innovation Policy Briefs are additional policy summaries of new and creative approaches to addressing social issues that, while not currently enacted, are under active consideration in several states.

Data Resources

Additional Publications

CFED produces an array of publications related to the Assets & Opportunity Scorecard. Get more information on local and state research and policy solutions and supplemental analysis of key Scorecard concepts and findings, such as foreclosure and its impact on net worth, wealth inequality, child asset poverty and education attainment disparity.

A&O Monthly Policy Update

The purpose of the Assets & Opportunity monthly policy update is to share information about policies and programs that promote financial security and opportunity. The update is designed for state and local organizations in the Assets & Opportunity Network, along with other advocates, policymakers and stakeholders who are engaged in state and local asset policy.
