Six Ways to Start Building Financial Security and Opportunity at the Local Level (Published: January 2013)
In recent years, many cities have begun to focus on parlaying residents’ income through job creation and job training strategies into savings and durable assets. To explore options available to cities large and small for engaging in asset-building strategies, CFED and National League of Cities published Taking the First Step: Six Ways to Start Building Financial Security and Opportunity at the Local Level.

Building Economic Security in America's Cities: New Municipal Strategies for Asset Building and Financial Empowerment (Published January 2011) CFED worked with the Cities for Financial Empowerment Coalition to understand the unique role of municipal governments in scaling economic inclusion efforts, and the resulting report highlights the work cities across the country are doing to educate, empower and protect residents in the financial marketplace.

Banking on Opportunity: A Scan of the Evolving Field of Bank On Initiatives (Published November 2011)
First ever scan of the national Bank On field, prepared by the National League of Cities Institute for Youth, Education and Families under contract with CFED and the U.S. Department of the Treasury. This report describes the landscape of Bank On programs, their origins and their context within a broader financial access field.
